Pimentos Kitchen + Market: Great Food, Great People, Great Place
When it comes to restaurants, Trey Jordan knows a thing or two about customer satisfaction. Jordan remembers the early days working for his father’s Wendy’s Restaurants. “I cut my teeth in the burger business,” he recalls. And, from the get-go, this guy had a head and heart for the business. From flipping burgers to peddling Christmas trees during his days at Baylor University where he majored in marketing and entrepreneurship, to a short stint in the real estate business, Jordan soon followed his real passion back into food service. It’s been a delicious ride, and it continues.
He and his father Dan took advantage of the holiday season 25 years ago when they opened Holiday Ham, later to be re-named Holiday Deli and Ham. It was an immediate success. “We were slammed with business that very first season.” Over time the deli and fast-casual restaurant made a name for themselves with their hams, their pimento cheese, chicken salad, a long list of signature sandwiches, and other delectables. And as Jordan points out, “Ninety-percent of our food is made from scratch,” and that made a difference. With great food and a recipe for success in his pocket, Jordan decided to deliver something new.
The first Pimentos Kitchen + Market opened at 6450 Poplar in October 2016, continuing the three elements that made Holiday Deli and Ham a success – great food, great people and at a great place. With its success, Jordan decided that the fast-growing Collierville community was a natural for his brand of fast-casual. Opening recently at the corner of Houston Levee and Winchester, Pimentos has already become a lunch and dinner gathering spot for people wanting a combination of service options. From their delicious variety of hamburgers – they feature a hamburger of the week and their pimento cheese burger with honey-glazed bacon is a must – to their quesadillas, Pimentos offers fast-casual (place your order and take your number to a table) to full-service restaurant experience or a meal and drink at the bar. For more convenience, Pimentos offers a drive-through window with the same food as you would receive dining in and with the speed of a fast-food restaurant. And, Pimentos Kitchen + Market offers much of its menu in containers and ready to take home from their cases.
Trey Jordan wanted Pimentos to offer the feel of a country lake house and down-home comfort. The layout and décor reflect just that. Old screened doors, festooned with small lights, hang from the ceiling. The inviting bar area provides a quiet corner to share a drink with a friend or to enjoy your meal on the go. Ask about their craft beer selection. Pimentos also offers a cozy outdoor patio for casual gatherings when the weather is right and a small room toward the back of the restaurant for twenty people to meet and dine with a bit more privacy.
Trey Jordan enjoys creating comfortable dining experiences, with good food served any way you like it, and in a comfortable, remarkably cool space. He is so ready for Collierville. And, we think Collierville is ready for Pimentos Kitchen + Market.
