Pride of Collierville to hold 1st Annual Dragon Band Gala

Collierville High School Band Boosters will host the first annual Dragon Band Gala on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 7pm-11pm at the Ridgeway Country Club. The Dragon Band Gala is a formal event which will feature classical music provided by Collierville High School Band students, hors d‘oeuvres and a cash bar, silent auction, dancing and socializing with fellow supporters of the Pride of Collierville Band Program. All adults 21 and over are invited to attend this inaugural event, however space is limited.

All proceeds from ticket sales and silent auction bidding will go directly towards advancing the Pride of Collierville students’ possibilities in music through enriching the program. Tickets are $75 per person and are available for purchase at www.colliervilleband.com/dragon-band-gala-tickets.html. A limited number of tables are available for $750, which includes entry for up to 10 guests, a custom artisan crafted Tuscan Iron Entries Dragon Gala centerpiece and visible placement of donor’s name or logo during the Gala.

Thomas Richardson, director of the Pride of Collierville, envisions the Gala as a night to celebrate both the students’ professional musicianship as well the community of people and businesses that help make the POC band program possible. “The financial support of our program is a testament to the power of music and the rich musical culture that has been cultivated in our area. We want to show our gratitude and continue to strengthen our relationship with the community, while celebrating the spirit of philanthropy and advocating for the future of our growing program.”

The Pride of Collierville consists of 7 ensembles, including wind symphony, symphonic band, Jazz Band, Color Guard, Indoor Percussion, and the well-known Pride of Collierville Marching Band, comprised of over 175 students. Program accolades include the prestigious invitation to perform at Tennessee Music Educators State Conference, student representation in 4 All-State honor ensembles and over $1 million annually awarded in scholarships. This year, the Pride of Collierville Marching Band was a finalist at the Bands of America Regional competition and placed 17 out of 84 bands at the Bands of America Indy Super Regional Competition.
