Collierville Chamber of Commerce Hosts Monthly Members Meeting

Judge Lee Ann Dobson offers overview of the Collierville Municipal Court

The Collierville Chamber of Commerce invited members and guests to the Ridgeway Country Club on Wednesday, October 9, for a luncheon/networking opportunity and a chance to hear Municipal Court Judge Lee Ann Dobson discuss the town’s Municipal Court functions.

Judge Dobson provided the audience a general overview of the functions of the court, which hears both municipal cases involving laws of Collierville, as well as cases falling under state law.

Dobson stated that she is “committed to running an orderly courtroom that offers compassion.” Judge Dobson gave credit to “the best staff in the world” for the orderly function of the court, which hears cases on Tuesday and Thursday. In addition to her overview, she offered specific information and breakdowns of the types of crimes most often brought before the court. Judge Dobson also has a private law practice, Dobson Law Firm, P.L.L.C. Dobson became the first female judge in the town’s history, when she was chosen to fill the term of former Judge William Craig Hall, who died in December 2018. She began her duties in January 2019.

Chad Lindsay, VP and General Manager of Alston Construction in Collierville, who was the sponsor of the day’s luncheon, took a few minutes to highlight the capacity of the company, using photographs to reflect the types of commercial and industrial building projects Alston pursues across the nation, region and within the Collierville area.

Mark Heuberger, President and CEO of the Collierville Chamber of Commerce, recognized Don Kitchens, co-owner and general manager of Landers Ford, whose company celebrates 20 years of Chamber Membership this fall. Heuberger also reminded members of the Collierville Business Expo to be held at the H.W. Cox Community Center on Thursday, October 24.

Collierville Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheon program offers an opportunity for members and guests to meet and to hear insightful and informative programs about the business and civic environment of Collierville.
