Chamber Face Mask Challenge. Learn How to Get Involved.
The Collierville Chamber is calling upon the community to help us support the employees of the Town of Collierville. Since employees of businesses will likely be wearing a mask for the foreseeable future, the Town of Collierville is in need of about 400 cloth face masks. “We are recommending that our employees wear a face covering when in close contact with other individuals for the foreseeable future,” said James Lewellen, Town Administrator. “However, we don’t want to take away from health care employees having enough surgical/medical type mask, so we hoping to provide our employees with a cloth face mask that they can wash and reuse.”
We at the Chamber know that there are many talented and willing individuals in our community that have the means to sew cloth face mask. We are asking you to crank up the sewing rooms around town and help us meet this need for our Town Employees. We have included cloth face mask specifications from the CDC for sewing guidelines. Cloth mask with logos of local teams and schools, including Dragons, are acceptable.
The Town of Collierville recently received a donation of medical/surgical type face mask, but those masks have been distributed to the Police and Fire Department Employees who come in contact with the public daily.
We will be collecting your donations of sewn cloth face mask at the Collierville Chamber of Commerce 485 Halle Park Drive. We are open from 8:30am-4:00pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-3:30pm on Fridays. Collected donations will be delivered to the Town of Collierville on May 11, 2020.
