Cotton Law Firm, Rehab etc. Collierville, Collierville Arts Council, Baptist Hospice Good Grief and Maureen Fraser Take Top Honors at Collierville Chamber’s Excellence in Business Awards
Five honorees celebrated with over 375 fellow Chamber members and guests who attended the Collierville Chamber of Commerce’s lavish “Excellence in Business Awards 2019” at the Hilton Hotel Thursday evening, January 23. The awards recognized organizations and individuals who make Collierville a special place to live, work and do business. The Boyle Insurance Agency was the ceremony’s Presenting Sponsor, and Andrew Douglas, WMC-TV5 news anchor and Collierville resident, served as the evening’s emcee.
Ron Gant of The Boyle Insurance Agency and Mollie Walker of Landmark Community Bank, the evening’s reception sponsor, offered opening remarks about the unique character of the awards ceremony and complimented all nominees.
Prior to the evening’s presentations, attendees watched a fast-paced video presentation, “Building Foundations for Excellence,” which highlighted some of the Chamber’s accomplishments throughout 2019, spotlighting members and significant programs.
Mark Heuberger, President and CEO of the Collierville Chamber of Commerce, took the stage for the official passing of the gavel from current Chamber Board Chairman, Tamara Swain of First Horizon, to the incoming Chairman, Tracy Moore of Hunter Fan. Heuberger followed the gavel ceremony with an introduction of the evening’s guest speaker, Matt Largen, President and CEO of Williamson, Inc. Largen entertained and informed the audience with what an engaged, proactive and vibrant Chamber of Commerce means to a community.
The culmination of the evening involved the presentation of awards in five categories: Spirit of Collierville, recognizing an organization or business that reflects the image and giving spirit of the Town of Collierville [nominees: Cartridge World, Cotton Law Firm, The Brooks Collection, and Art and Speed Classic Car Gallery]; the Non-Profit of the Year, reflecting an organization that has provided exemplary service and benefits to the town [nominees: Collierville Arts Council, Main Street Collierville, Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy, and the Collierville Literacy Council]; Entrepreneur of the Year, representing a company that has shown significant growth over the past year [nominees: Dogtopia, Firehouse Subs, and Rehab etc. Collierville]; Healthcare Provider of the Year, recognizing an organization that reflects extraordinary efforts in healthcare [nominees: YMCA Livestrong Cancer Program, Baptist
Centers for Good Grief, and Dr. Jay Ragain Dean, College of Dentistry University of Tennessee Health Science Center], and Person of the Year, an individual imbued with a sense of civic duty and responsibility through action, leadership and participation in efforts for the Town of Collierville [nominees: Allen Green, Maureen Fraser, and Fran Persechini].

- “Person of the Year” to Maureen Fraser, presented by Terry Dean of the Collierville Arts Council
The Collierville Chamber of Commerce’s annual “Excellence in Business Awards” is one of many programs sponsored by the Chamber to provide recognition, networking and educational opportunities, and celebration of the business community of the Town of Collierville.
