Thanksgiving may be over, but it is never too late to practice gratitude, especially during 2020. The Collierville Chamber of Commerce will celebrate #GivingTuesday on December 1, 2020 in honor of the nonprofits and individuals who work hard to serve our community.
Because of these difference-makers, we can rest easier during a global pandemic, knowing they are ready to lend a hand, feed the hungry and even pass out WiFi hotspots to students in need. Today, we say thank you.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past 8 years, this idea has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. The campaign raised over $1.9 million in donations in 2019 alone.
Monetary donations go a long way, though that’s not the only way you can give. Volunteers are always needed too.
Here are some Collierville nonprofits and community organizations who could use your time and money:
Education & Information Advocacy
Human & Family Services
Travel & Tourism
The Shops at Carriage Crossing is also doing its part to give back. Partnering with New Beginnings Animal Rescue, Carriage Crossing is offering to gift wrap your presents in exchange for a donation for shelter pets. Learn more about its events and holiday festivities here.
