2020 Excellence in Business Awards Recipients
The Collierville Chamber hosted its annual Excellence in Business Awards at Collierville First Baptist Church on Thursday, Mar. 11, 2021. Over 150 business leaders and local officials came together to honor those who make significant contributions to enhance our quality of life and make Collierville a better place to live and work.
Award-winning anchor Andrew Douglas emceed the event, introducing the nominees and Tennessee Speaker of the House Cameron Sexton. Sexton addressed the audience with an uplifting message that commended Collierville for its civic leadership and educational initiatives.
Following Sexton’s address, Douglas returned to the stage to help present the 2020 Excellence in Business Awards to seven recipients. The recipients are:
- Spirit of Collierville: Landmark Community Bank
- Nonprofit of the Year: Collierville Rotary Club
- Healthcare Provider of the Year: Collierville Schools Nurses & Baptist Memorial Hospital – Collierville
- Entrepreneur of the Year: Buff City Soap – Collierville
- Person of the Year: Mark Hansen
- Bridging the Gap: YMCA at Schilling Farms
This year’s Bridging the Gap award was an exclusive achievement designed to recognize someone who went above and beyond during the pandemic. Donating millions of meals and countless hours of childcare, the YMCA at Schilling Farms accepted the award with a standing ovation.
“The Chamber’s Excellence in Business Awards has become the most significant event of the year for the Collierville business community,” Mayor Stan Joyner says.
Presented by Boyle Insurance Agent Ron Gant, this event served as an opportunity to recognize outstanding achievements in citizenship, industry and business. Other major sponsors for the event included Landmark Community Bank, Alexander Thompson Arnold, Orgill and Thomas Meat & Seafood Market.
